A few weeks ago, we paid tribute to one our troops serving our country. With today (Nov. 11) being Veterans Day, we thought we’d recognize one of the important roles our military folks endure. The spouse or family they leave behind when they head overseas makes a sacrifice that is often overlooked.
This week’s fan is the wife of a military man over in Iraq right now. We thank both of you for your service to keep our freedom.
Name: Nichole Bullock
From: Booneville, Miss
Age: 31
Occupation: I am currently a stay-at-home mom while my husband is serving in Iraq
How long have you been following racing: I’ve been actively following racing since 2002
How did you get started: My husband decided he was going to watch racing and we went to our first race in April of 2004. So, ever since then I've been hooked seriously.
Who was your first favorite driver, and why: Dale Earnhardt Jr, of course, because my husband likes Budweiser. So, he decided he would follow the car that was sponsored by Budweiser. So, I followed the same and have no regrets at all. Dale Jr. is an awesome driver.
Who is your favorite now, and why: Well it is a toss up between Martin Truex, Jr. and
Dale Jr., I really like them both. But, I've seen Martin in person more than I have ever seen Dale Jr. I would have to say it is a tie
What is your favorite driver's racing moment: When he was being interviewed after the race in April 2004 at Talladega, He was glad to see some fans show emotion and I thought it was hilarious. But, I also enjoyed him winning at Richmond.
How many races do you attend a year: As many as I can, I have only been to two Busch races and both were at Nashville.
Best race you ever saw on TV or in person: When Dale Jr. won the Daytona 500
What is your favorite track for racing: I would have to say Talladega
If your favorite driver came to your town, where would you take him and what would you do: Well, we live in a small town, so first we would have to make a Wal-Mart stop. Then we would go to the river and get on a boat and have fun riding round the river all day.
If you worked at DEI, what would you like to do: I would like to be Dale Jr's personal travel agent.
If you ran NASCAR for a day, what rule would you change, add or delete: I would most definitely delete the impound rule. It doesn’t give crews much time to tune and tweak the car to its most perfect stage for the race.
