Selecting our Fan of the Week was an easy one. When you have a military person, who also happens to have a picture of himself with Dale Earnhardt in the background, there’s not much thought involved in making our selection.
This Air Force Member has an interesting take on what he’d do if he ran NASCAR for a day. It’s a great military-type answer and great idea, too.
Thanks, Sam, for doing what you and all the others at Minot do for us.
Name: Samuel L. Warren, Jr.

How long have you been following racing: Since Big E won the 1993 Winston Cup Championship
How did you get started: From my father; he was interested in it and I just followed along.
Who was your first favorite driver, and why: Big E, because he came from humble beginnings and never ever forgot where he came from and also never forgot those who helped him along the way.
Who is your favorite now, and why: Little E, because he has his father’s talent for restrictor plate racing.
What is your favorite driver’s best racing moment: Big E - pass in the grass. Little E - winning the 2001 Pepsi 400 at Daytona.
How many races do you attend a year: I get to two races a year.
Best race you ever saw on TV or in person: Big E winning the 1998 Daytona 500.
What is your favorite track for racing: Talladega.
If your favorite driver came to your town, where would take him and what would you do: Show Little E Minot AFB, home of the B-52s and 150 Minuteman III and then go hang out and show him how hard-working airmen defend this country.
If you worked at DEI, what would you like to do: I would like to work in marketing and bring new sponsors on board.
If you ran NASCAR for a day, what rule would you change, add or delete: If you were caught cheating, I would take points but more importantly the car/driver would sit out of the race.
