Name: Lorrie Meeks
From: Pinetops, NC
Occupation: Operations Manager at Moorecraft Reels, Inc. (I also work on my dedicated Dale Jr. website and moderate at one of the leading motorsports forums on the net.)
How long have you been following racing: 5 years
How did you get started: As a non-race fan, I got free tickets to a Richmond Busch race…..that’s all it took and I was hooked.
Who was your first favorite driver, and why: Dale Jr - I liked his personality and he had a cool paint scheme.
Who is your favorite now, and why: Dale Jr. – He is an extremely talented driver and I appreciate how he handles himself on and off the track. Jr. fans are proud fans! Also, he is a fan favorite because he always keeps us interested!
What is your favorite driver’s best racing moment: Winning the Daytona 500!
How many races do you attend a year: I try to attend at least one Cup and one Busch race a year.
Best race you ever saw on TV or in person: Best race I saw was on TV…Jr. winning the Pepsi 400!
What is your favorite track for racing: Richmond
If your favorite driver came to your town, where would take him and what would you do: There’s absolutely nothing to do in my town so I’d have to take him to nearby Raleigh for a Carolina Hurricanes game.
If you worked at DEI, what would you like to do: Anything….it would be an honor just to work there! But if I had to choose, I’d like to work with the paint and decal schemes on the cars.
If you ran NASCAR for a day, what rule would you change, add or delete: Drivers could only be fined points for spec infractions or intentional physical contact with another driver’s car or body. Words that they say during or after a race should only carry a monetary fine. Only take points if it directly affects the race itself.
