This person was easy to spot strolling along pit road before the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway with her Michael Waltrip sweatshirt and big smile.

Why the big smile? Because just 10 minutes before we met her, she had just met Michael, got a picture and her sweatshirt signed. That made her day, and we made her our Fan of the Week.

How long have you been following racing: I started following it about four years ago when my husband, Mack, got me interested. He’s a big race fan and I really started liking it when I went to my first race.

What was it about going to race that hooked you: It was just a thrilling experience, the excitement and the way it makes you feel. There is something magical about going to a race in person.

We can see you’re a Michael Waltrip fan, what drew you to him: Oh, what can I say. (Smiles and sighs). I started watching Speed-TV and one of the first shows I started watching was that one on Monday night. (Inside Nextel Cup) His personality just knocked me off my feet. He is so funny, so sweet and I just want crazy. I just like Michael.

You favorite Michael moment: A few minutes ago when I met him and had my picture taken with him. He signed my shirt, my hat and he was just wonderful. (Laughs)

If you could work at DEI, what would you like to do: I’d like to work in the Retail Store so I could buy more things.

Of all the commercials we have out now, which one is your favorite: I like the one where Dale Jr. puts the restrictor plate over Michael’s mouth. I also like the one where Michael turns his hat backwards and Dale Jr. says he isn’t taking credit for the way Michael is acting.
