Brenda Crawford – December 3, 2004
Hanging out by the pit cart at a race track is always an enjoyable experience. But, when you’re wearing some of our team apparel and we make you Fan of the Week; that makes it even better.
We found our fan and her husband sporting Bud jackets and enjoying the day. So, we put the pit sign in her hand and then asked some questions.
Name: Brenda Crawford
From: Conyers, Ga.
Occupation: School Food Nutritionist at Snellville Middle School
How long have you been following racing: I started watching it about four years ago with my husband, Brett. I became interested after February 2001 and my husband had already been watching racing. I went to a race and saw it in person and I was done – I just love the sport.
What is about going to the races that you like so much: The atmosphere is great. Everybody from the fans to the race teams are like one big family.
How many races do you get to a year: We’ve been to seven of them this year. We go to both Atlanta races, Bristol, Talladega and Darlington twice.
When you don’t attend a race, how do you usually watch them: At home we watch them with some friends over to the house.
What made you become a Dale Jr. fan: He is the man on the race track. That, and his personality and the way he drives. I gained so much respect for him after Feb. 2001 because of all that he had to go through afterwards. I give him a lot of credit for that and many more things.
Favorite Dale Jr. moment: When he won the Daytona 500 this year and the July race there in 2001. It’s a tie between those two moments.
If you could work at Dale Earnhardt, Inc. what would you like to do: I’d like to do Public Relations for a team or the whole company.
Of all of our commercials, what is your favorite one: I like the one with Michael and Dale Jr. in the car with the guitar and lighter. That one and the Bud one with the airplane and the lipstick – that’s pretty funny. Oh, and the one where Dale Jr. is the designated driver and that guy keeps making him go around the neighborhood.
