We tried a little something different this time in finding our Fan of the Week – we did it via email.
Regina sent in a note asking what it would take to be our Fan of the Week since she doesn’t get to the races or visit us here in Mooresville. So, we sent her the usual list of questions and asked her to send back a jpeg of her in her DEI-related garb or standing in her DEI-related room or with her collectibles.
We might try this method more often to involve more of you across our great nation.

How long have you been following racing: 10 years
How did you get started: I started by watching racing with my parents as a Sunday event.
Who was your first favorite driver, and why: Dale Earnhardt, Sr. because I watched him drive a lot and I like the way he handled his cars.
Who is your favorite now, and why: Dale Jr. I like him because he is a great driver. I have watched him for years and his talent just keeps growing. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
I guess my favorite thing about him is the way he interacts with fans and fellow drivers. Has the God given talent to drive that car, but it takes a special person to stay level headed and he seems to be just that.
How many races do you get to a year: None
What is your favorite track: I like to watch the Bristol night race.
If Dale Jr. came to your town, what would you do and where would go: Well, he was in Daytona for a race and came to Orlando on business, but I was out of town working that day.
Best race you ever saw on TV or in person: Bristol night race 2001.
If you worked at DEI, what would you like to do: If I worked at DEI, I would like to anything that entails me seeing the drivers and being able to be around the cars. Maybe even a field reporter for the newsletters.
If you ran NASCAR for a day, what rule would you change, add or delete: Hard to answer that one because there are a lot of things to consider when doing something like that. All sports need rules and there are too many factors, including safety, to be considered.
