Each week, we’ll select a Fan of the Week to be honored on the website. Every Tuesday, we’ll introduce that person and let you read about their special connection with Dale Earnhardt, Dale Jr., Martin Truex, Jr. and Paul Menard. We’re fairly sure you’ll have something in common with each of them.

We’ve started to hear from our fans all over after putting out the call for Fans of the Week to send in their answers and pictures. This week’s fan got hooked on racing because that’s all that was on at their house on weekends.

And now, she’s not only hooked on it – she wants to be a driver. Apparently she was here on Dale Earnhardt Day, too. The person signing her jacket is Cathy Earnhardt-Watkins, Dale’s sister.

Name: Nicole Schmeer

 From: Rolesville, North Carolina

 Age: 15

Occupation: None, I am in school. But, I want to be a girl race car driver!

How long have you been following racing: Just about five years now.

How did you get started: My dad used to watch racing every weekend and I couldn't watch anything else. So, I would watch racing and I got hooked on it!

Who was you first favorite driver, and why: Dale Jr. because I thought he was one of the better drivers; and he’s a hottie!

Who is your favorite now, and why: Dale Jr. is still my favorite driver because I just adore him! He knows and loves what he is doing.

What is your favorite driver’s most memorable moment: My favorite moment would be when Dale Jr. won the Daytona 500, I loved that.

How many races do you attend a year: Well, we try to go to as many as we can but it’s been hard this year because we just moved here from New York. So, we only went to three races, but we should be going to more before the year ends.

Best race you ever saw on TV or in person: It would have to be the 2005 All-Star race in Charlotte because I went to it.

What is your favorite track for racing: I like so many, but it would have to be Bristol - I just love that place!

If Dale Jr. came to your town, where would you take him and what would you do: If Dale Jr. came to my town, I would take him to my house to show him my room because it’s a Dale Jr. room; I would be freaking out. It would be funny.

If you worked at DEI, what would you like to do: I want to be a race car driver, so I would want to race for DEI.

If you ran NASCAR for a day, what rule would you change, add or delete: If I had to do that, I would the delete the rule where cars a lap down line up inside the leaders for a restart. They would have to race their way back onto the lead lap
