The Dale Earnhardt Foundation's mission is to continue Dale's legacy through charitable programs and grants that sustain his lifelong commitment to Children, Education and Environmental/Wildlife Preservation.

Established 2002 as a 501(C)(3) nonprofit public foundation

Programs:
Since 2004: DEF has given over $140,000 in scholarships through the Legend Leadership Award
Since 2007: Provided over 5,000 books to the The Salvation Army Center of Hope homeless shelter for women and children
Since 2008: The Feed the Children hauler has distributed 450,000 pounds of food to over 10,000 children and families
2009: Planted over 2,000 trees through the American Forests Organization
March 2010: Partnership with Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for conservation projects
October 2012: Made a $2M commitment to build a 25+ acre lake and establish “The Dale Earnhardt Environmental Learning Campus” in Iredell County (NC) with the Girl Scouts Hornets’ Nest Council
Donated $50,000 for tree plantings and City Green training in schools
